about
More Than You Wanted to Know About Me...

I am a man on a quest
to find the Deity — the source of Love, Hope, Peace, Compassion, Patience, Perseverance and Saving Grace.

Sounds heavy, don't it? Well, it's really not. Take a look around you and prepare to answer these questions:

Who are you?
Why are you here?
Where are you going?
What are you going to do?
How are you doing today?

There are answers to these questions, but they are not for anyone — they must be found by the individual who seeks.

I am a Creative Technologist
Completely fascinated by technology, I use my creativity to make things via computer.

I've apprenticed at a design studio during my extended time at university, served as Graphic Artist for a regional newspaper, and as Creative Director for a "Web Solutions" company.

Now, I find myself designing websites and graphics to support the work of the Holy Spirit in people's lives. Take a peek at Air1 and K-LOVE to see what I mean. Don't forget to click on “Listen Online”

I've been very interested in using applied technology to shape online experiences. I'm intrigued by the challenge of shaping the containers for information presentation and conveyance.

My strengths are in interaction design, layout, visual concept development and art direction. In short, I am a website redesign dynamo!

I am a Father
And Husband, Brother, Son. What compares to the love of the father for his son?

For an extended time in my life, I didn't want to have children. Now, I can look back and ask the question, "What was I thinking?" See what I'm talking about.

sonicpixel
My alternate identity

As a Creative Technologist, I go by the identity, "Sonic Pixel" and run a small consulting business of the same name. Stop by sonicpixel.com for a more in-depth exploration.

The name "Sonic" has been with me for years; given to me by a dear friend and co-worker to describe my frantic sales efforts on behalf of my clients and my pointily-spiked hair. It seems that my speed has become somewhat legendary...

Shortly thereafter being so named, everyone was calling me "Sonic" and I had to concede that the new name was appropriate in certain ways and motivational in others.

Coming from a biological science background, it wasn't a major leap to computer technology — especially for one who's hobby was home computing.

After quite a lot of time in industry on the fringe of technology, I combined a formal education with private studies to break into computer-based graphic design. In my world, technology and creativity are united in sonicpixel Digital Media Design

Having a "knack" for Computer Technology as well as a real desire to be creative are two conduits for my work.

fun with words
Language can be tricky

If Webster wrote the first dictionary, where did he find the words?

Why is the third hand on the watch called the second hand?

If a word is misspelled in the dictionary, how would we ever know?

Is it good if a vacuum really sucks?

Why do we say something is out of whack?
What is whack?

Why do "slow down" and "slow up" mean the same thing?

Why do "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean the same thing?

Why are "wise man" and "wise guy" opposites?

Why do tug boats push their barges?

Why do we sing "Take me out to the ball game" when we are already there?

Why is it called "after dark" when it really is "after light"?

Why do "overlook" and "oversee" mean opposite things?

Why is phonics not spelled the way it sounds?

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay you to do it?

If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting?

If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?

If you are cross-eyed and have dyslexia, can you read all right?

Why is bra singular and panties plural?

Why do you press harder on the buttons of a remote control when you know the batteries are dead?

Why do we put suits in garment bags and garments in a suitcase?

How come abbreviated is such a long word?

Why do we wash bath towels? Aren't we clean when we use them?

Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?

Why do they call it a TV set, when you only get one?

Moving Thoughts Compiled By Someone Else

Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

It takes only a minute to get a meet someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.

May the Lord bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you and give you peace.
